Where you’ll find us

Bundjalung Country
Wilderness Adventures is privileged to be located and operate on Bundjalung Country, in the beautiful Northern Rivers Region of New South Wales.

The majority of Wilderness Adventures activities take place on lands held under native title by the Widjabul Wia-bal Traditional Owners (native title granted in 2022).

We acknowledge their strength
and resilience, as well as their sovereignty which has never been ceded. Our deep respect is extended to their elders; past, present and emerging.

Activity Locations

Our activities primarily operate in National Parks and State Conservation Areas. These include Nightcap National Park, Whian Whian State Conservation Area, Mount Jerusalem National Park and various other parks/reserves along the New South Wales North Coast.

We can meet you at the venue, or as a courtesy we’ll happily collect you from your accommodation in our four wheel drive. You can let us know your preference when you make your booking.

Who’s behind Wilderness Adventures

Experienced adventure tour leader Tim Williams has owned and operated Wilderness Adventures since its inception in 2011. The business was initially based in the Blue Mountains, where the outdoor recreation industry is well established. In the Blue Mountains, Tim spent two years training in Outdoor Recreation at TAFE, becoming qualified to lead a wide range of adventure activities.
In his first year as a full-time guided Tim was awarded “Guide Of The Year” by The Social Network of Guides. An award voted on by 50 of his peers. Since this time Tim has further advanced his leadership skills and been involved in the development of Adventure Activity Standards (safety standards and good practice guides for leaders and operators) and has organised a number of free rescue training workshops for abseiling and climbing guides to improve their rescue skills and knowledge.
Tim has over 15 years of outdoor industry experience, having guided abseiling, rock-climbing. bushwalking, canyoning, fishing and a range of other activities since 2008. Tim has worked as an outdoor education teacher, adventure tour guide and outdoor event manager over the past two decades. He has special interests in weather forecasting, communications and outdoor safety.
Tim moved to the North Coast with his wife and family in 2017 and Wilderness Adventures moved with him, opening the door to amazing new adventures. Tim, and his team of local guides, are delighted to be able to share their favorite wild places in the Northern Rivers with their guests.
